Knee Replacement
Designed For Women Now Available
Kennedy-White
Orthopaedic Center is pleased to announce the availability of a knee replacement
implant that is designed for the anatomy of a woman’s knee. Traditional knee
replacements are sized and shaped in relation to the average of a man’s knee. A
woman’s knee tends to be narrower than a man’s. In addition, because their hips
are wider, a woman’s knee moves differently than a man’s. The Zimmer Gender
Solutions Knee now offered at Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center is designed to
accommodate those differences and is shaped to fit a woman’s anatomy.
Knee replacements
have been a highly successful surgery for more than 30 years. According to the
National Institutes of Health, 9 out of 10 patients who undergo the procedure
report improved pain relief, knee function and overall health-related quality of
life. For women the Gender Knee makes knee replacement surgery more attractive
than ever. It’s the best of both worlds, a knee replacement that is based on an
implant that has a 10-year proven track record of success, but with change in
shape that women can call their own.
