Dr. Jonathan Koscso is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Sports Medicine surgeon and has been practicing at Kennedy-White Orthopedic Center since 2022. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Biomedical Sciences before playing professional baseball in the Tampa Bay Rays organization following his undergraduate studies. Upon the end of his professional baseball career, Dr. Koscso returned to USF to complete his medical training at the USF Morsani College of Medicine. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, followed by a specialized Sports Medicine fellowship at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
With a focus on sports medicine injuries, Dr. Koscso specializes in both acute and chronic injuries affecting the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle in patients of all ages. He is dedicated to treating the high school athlete, the weekend warrior, and the senior athlete with arthritis through a breadth of sophisticated nonoperative and operative measures. Dr. Koscso has advanced training in the latest arthroscopic and open surgical techniques, ranging from rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, and other soft tissue procedures to joint replacement options for the shoulder and knee. Furthermore, as a former professional baseball player, Dr. Koscso has a particular clinical interest in evaluating and treating overhead athletes with various shoulder and elbow conditions.
Dr. Koscso is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed orthopedic journals.
Outside of work, Dr. Koscso is an avid triathlete who enjoys racing throughout the country, as well as at many local events.
