Meniscal Allograft Transplantation
When a meniscus is badly torn, it is commonly removed by knee arthroscopy (through a scope). Some people will still have pain in the knee once the cartilage is removed. In this situation, a new meniscus can be transplanted into the knee. Dr. Gary Shapiro is an expert at this procedure and has been performing it for years.
